I am not licensed, but I did repairs and improvements on a rental property for a landlord that I know on a personal level. I then moved into the rental space with my family (still making approved improvements) and after a year he is asking us to leave but has not paid us for the labor or the materials in full. Do we have a case for a mechanics lein to get compensated fairly for the work we completed on the property for the landlords benefit?
