Can I file a lien release in Reno Nv

NevadaLien Releases
Anonymous General Contractor

I’m a GC who came to an agreement with a sub. The sub was paid however never filed the satisfaction of lien. We have the lien release, proof of payment and settlement agreement. Can we remove the lien in their place now? Does covid prevent us to do so?

If you have the subcontractor's signed lien release in hand, you can generally place that document for recording with the county recorder to release the lien. The lien release wouldn't be effective if the subcontractor hadn't signed it themselves - so it doesn't really matter who actually files the document as long as the lien claimant is the one who signed it. As for whether Covid will prevent you from filing: no, it shouldn't. Nevada county recorder offices are still recording documents placed with them for filing. Though, it's absolutely possible that there will be recording delays due to the ongoing outbreak. If you'd like the county recorder's address, contact info, and other recording information, select the appropriate county here: Index of Nevada County Recorders.
