I am an interior designer and helped a coworker with their home renovation. I designed it and also set up all the contractors to do the work on the remodel. At the end of the project, the homeowner wouldn't pay us for the last week of work. I filed a Mechanics Lien and now he is claiming that the work wasn't done well and he had to rip out all the work we did and redo everything. Is it possible for him to sue me for the amount of money he spent on the renovation when I was in charge? I do not own a business nor am I a general contractor, so I'm guessing he would have to sue me as an individual. I just don't want that to happen so I am trying to navigate my next steps carefully.
