If we ask for a change that generates a change order, our contractor is charging his 15% on the cost of the job AND sales tax. If the job is 1000.00 and sales tax is 80 the contractor charges us his 15% on 1080. I understand we have to pay sales tax but it doesn't seem right that the contractor profits from sales tax that we are paying.
