Can one build there own home in Georgia without being a Licensed Contractor?

Yes, a Georgia owner may build their own property without a builder's license in Georgia. However, any work that is subbed out must be done by someone who's licensed in that particular trade, where licensure is required for their work.
Further, an owner can only build their own home without a license if the home won't immediately be sold or leased. And, when an owner ends up selling the property they've built, they'll need to get licensed or wait 2 years before building another property.
