Can a lien be filed if i no longer own the property?

ArizonaMechanics Lien

I had work done on my AZ house in April 2021. A few months ago the contractor said i owe more money, or they will place a lien on the house. I no longer own the property and i don't live in the state anymore. Can they place a lien on ,my new house out of state, or on the AZ house i no longer own? i don't want problems for the new owners either.

They can't place a mechanics lien on your new home out of state. As to the AZ home, it will depend on whether they fulfilled the necessary pre-requisites to filing a lien and if they are still within the statutory deadlines to file a lien. You should speak with an experienced attorney about the specifics.
