Can a contractor file a mechanics lien against a personal residence if none of the changes to the contract was put in writing or price discussed? Job is completed but when receiving the final and only billing, we did not agree to the charges for upgrades. We are willing to negotiate with the contractor but he is not responding to a settlement.
