Contractor and insurance adjuster cannot come to an agreed number for an insurance claim . The contractor started the project without sending in an upfront estimate . 3 months later the adjuster sends a check for the amount of the insurance estimate . Then contractor sends his estimate which is $15k more than insurance gave . Now the contractor is stating if he Doesn’t get paid he will Put a lien on my home . I told him upfront anything extra that insurance doesn’t cover do not do unless we discuss pricing upfront .
