Can a contract signed with a contractor without license, be enforced by the contractor or their subcontractors?

WashingtonConstruction Contract

I signed a contract with a general contractor A without a valid WA state license. I paid some money to Contractor A. Queston 1: Is the contract with Contractor A valid? Contractor A assigned the work to Sub-contractor B. Sub-contractor B did some minor work(no value in the work done) and wants to charge me for that. Subcontractor B has a valid license. Question2: Is sub-contractor allowed to charge me?

The contract is valid. However, since the contractor is unlicensed, the contractor cannot sue you if you don’t pay him. The subcontractor has no lien rights because the general contractor is unlicensed. The subcontractor cannot sue you.
