Why does. a general contractor need to see my insurance claim? I have provided him with a summary sheet with replacement cost value vs. actual cost value. All the numbers are there - contractors fee, amount of claim, overage etc.
When a contractor is performing work based on an insurance claim, it's common for them to want more information on the claim. However, if the contractor has been provided all of the relevant information, I'm not sure why they'd need the full claim, itself.
It might be helpful to reach out to your insurer or your broker to see what's customary there. They'll likely have extensive experience in coordinating insurance-paid repairs.
