Are there ethics committees for women insmallbusiness where I can talk about the unethical treatment I have received in not getting paid for work I have completed?

Pennsylvania

I have recently partnered with Zlien and we are about to start sending out the intent letters today. i have a meeting today at 2 with a rep from your company. I completed many jobs that have beennot paid or paid partially and I need to know if there are any ethics committees you know if that can help in this case as I am a minority and woman in small business and I believe it is a huge part of the reason why I am not being paid fairly is. Thank you

I'm very sorry to hear that. Slow payment and nonpayment are ugly construction problems, and if these issues are occurring because race and/or gender, it's that much more heinous. The Pennsylvania Department of State offers the ability to file a complaint against those licensed by the state when a licensee is acting unethically, immorally, or in a manner that is below acceptable practice, among other grounds for a complaint. You can learn more about that process here: Pennsylvania Licensing Complaints. Further, filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau can also be effective to put others on notice of unscrupulous behavior. I hope this was helpful! Feel free to come back with any other questions you may have!
