Apprenticeship money being withheld from employees

NevadaConstruction ContractPrevailing Wages

My question is, my company is stating that $1.50 will be withheld from each employee and given to a apprentice working on the site. We were told if there were 3 or more technicians on a prevailing wage job, that at apprentice is required, and $ is withheld for that apprentice. This job site is a new courthouse in Las Vegas and confirmed its prevailing wage. Is this accurate info we have been given???

Very generally: On prevailing wage jobs, there's generally some requirement that apprentices be used on the project. Unfortunately, however - I'm not familiar with the ins and outs of apprenticeship requirements on prevailing wage jobs. Still - these Nevada Prevailing Wage Guidelines for 2019-2020 should be useful. Additionally, Nevada's Office of the Labor Commissioner should be able to answer any questions you may have. You can reach them here: Contact Us | Office of the Labor Commissioner.
