AOB (leaking roof)

Florida

Hello Roof claim in mid 2020, I believe I signed an AOB back then. Shady on a cellphone , no copy of anything ever given to me. Insurance denied the claim. The roofer did nothing after denied, stated he was using a lawyer but was not. So I contacted a lawyer in early 2021 and litigation started. The roofing company was involved because they started the claims process. No work was ever started or performed by roofing company on my property. Today I have a settlement dollar amount accepted by my Law firm. They want the roofing company on the check. They state the roofing company released the AOB in exchange for Direction to Pay and Letter of Protection. I never agreed to that. I will not sign the Law Firms Final Closing Statement to get a check with the roofers name on it. It seems fraudulent to swap an AOB for another power of Direction to pay and letter. Any guidance will be helpful Thank you
