Am I still responsible for existing wood good neighbor fence if I build a block wall in front of it on my property?

We want to put up a block wall to replace existing good neighbor wood fence. Neighbor is not interested in block and wants to keep wood to match rest of there fencing. If we build a wall on our side of the property line (they are ok with) next to the existing wood fence, am I still responsible for maintenance or replace cost of that existing fence?
