That' an interesting situation - but I'm glad you were awarded payment! Anyway, I'm not entirely sure I follow. Was the lien filed a mechanics lien filed for unpaid construction work? Or was it a judgment lien filed after winning a small claims court action? Regardless, the best course of moving forward will likely be to contact whoever will be paying out the small claims court judgment - be that the security title company or the party against whom the judgment was won. If the security title company has been in contact about paying out some amount - does that mean you have the name of the company? If so, it should be relatively easy to search that company online to obtain contact information and reach out to them. If that company is not known, then reaching out to the party against whom you have won a judgment, in order to obtain the contact information of the security title company, could be helpful. Once in touch with the security title company, it will be time to negotiate the release of the lien in exchange for payment. Remember - a lien is incredible leverage for payment, so make sure that leverage isn't lost until it has become abundantly clear that payment will be made, or, if possible, after payment has been made. If struggles to obtain this judgment continue, it might be wise to either reach out to a local attorney familiar with enforcing small claims court decisions, or to consult the attorneys at avvo.com - avvo has attorneys available from all practices in all jurisdictions available to answer legal questions and provide legal advice.
