acquire abandoned property

IndianaMechanics Lien
Anonymous Contractor

There is an abandoned property adjacent to my property. The owner of record is a company that has been out of business for many years. I have taken care of the property adjacent to my property for over 17 years now and would like to acquire it. Today, there are a number of trees that are dead/dying or falling over presenting a real hazard to life and limb. If I pay to have those trees taken down and removed can I file a lien against the property? Thank you, j.b.

This is not a mechanics lien issue or question. If you want to learn about abandoned property law and if your state has adverse posession laws, it may be prudent to contact an attorney in your area directly: https://www.levelset.com/payment-help/experts/construction-lawyer/indiana/
