A customer is threatening me with a baseless lawsuit unless I remove mechanics lien. Should I release the lien?

CaliforniaLien Releases

The customer claims my work had to be redone...I know for a fact that they're lying. I did the cabinets, and have been in contact with the countertop guy. They didn't remove anything and are putting finish on it now. They got 33k in extras before terminating me. No lawyer will take on the case so I've been having to deal with their attorney directly and he is making threats. Can someone tell me if I should just walk away? Is a frivolous lawsuit something I can defend against?

If you are asking for specific legal advice about a current situation, then it may be best to contract an attorney directly. This forum is public, so it may not be the right place to discuss a sensitive legal issue. Levelset provides a list of attorneys in each state here: https://www.levelset.com/payment-help/experts/experts-by-state/ . From that directory you may find a law firm in your area to call privately.
