Robert Wise together with his wife, Suzanne Sharpe, began the law firm of Sharpe & Wise PLLC on September 1, 2007. Prior to forming their new firm, Robert Wise had been a Shareholder in the Jackson law firm founded by his late father, Sherwood W. Wise, Wise Carter Child & Caraway, P.A., where he had begun the practice of law in 1979 following his graduation from law school. Mr. Wise holds a JD degree from Washington & Lee University.
Suzanne Sharpe until November 2006 was with the Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) of the State of Mississippi where her positions had included service as Chief of Staff and where she had provided advice on a range of legal matters and governmental relations. Suzanne Sharpe also presently engages in a governmental relations practice through her consulting firm, Sharpe Solutions LLC. Ms. Sharpe holds a JD degree from the University of Mississippi.
Alex is correct. The Mississippi lien law (at Sec. 85-7-405(1)(b)) requires that a lien be filed no later than 90 days "after the claimant's last work performed, labor, services or materials provided". Notice that it is not the project's completion that defines the deadline, but the claimant's last presence or supply on the job. Also, the deadline to file a lien is not to be confused with the 1 year deadline to file suit on a Federal or Mississippi payment bond claim.See More...
