About Owen Ellington
Owen Ellington is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is licensed to practice by the Supreme Court of Texas and admitted to practice before the Northern, Southern, Western and Eastern Federal Districts of Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association (Construction, Federal and Litigation Sections), the Fort Bend Bar Association, Texas Association of Defense Counsel, Defense Research Institute, Transportation Lawyers Association, the Texas Trucking Association, The Houston Council of Safety Professionals, and a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas.

Mr. Ellington gained substantial trial experience early in his career where he assisted in the trial of several mass product liability cases.
Mr. Ellington received his bachelor’s degree in journalism in 1982 from the University of Texas at Austin and worked as a journalist prior to entering law school at the University of Houston, College of Law. Mr. Ellington speaks conversational Spanish, having been born and raised in El Paso, Texas.
The majority of Mr. Ellington’s practice is concentrated in the area of trucking accidents, oilfield accidents, commercial accidents, federal cargo claims, insurance defense, insurance coverage, premises liability, construction defects and construction accidents.
Mr. Ellington regularly lectures trucking and transportation companies, as well as insurance companies on claims handling practices. He has tried product liability cases involving hundreds of plaintiffs, commercial accidents, premises, wrongful death, negligence and construction (injury and defect) claims.
When Mr. Ellington is not engaged in the practice of law, he is a family man with a wife and two grown daughters. He is an avid golfer and swimmer, and also enjoys college and professional sporting events.
