About James Hicks
James B. Hicks is a civil litigator with a focus on health law and commercial disputes. James graduated from Duke University in 2007, where he earned a B.A. in Public Policy Studies and worked as Chief Operations Officer of a food delivery business. He then served for two years as a policy analyst under Mayor Michael Bloomberg of New York City. James graduated from Cornell Law School in 2012, where he was an Editor of the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy.

After law school, James B. Hicks joined the New York City Law Department, primarily representing the City in condemnation litigation. He received a Division Chief Award for exemplary public service. James joined Germer’s Austin office in 2015. He is licensed to practice in Texas state courts, New York state courts, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Southern and Western Districts of Texas. His current practice areas include health law, False Clames Act, Medicare and Medicaid fraud, Stark and Anti-kickback, personal injury, insurance coverage, medical malpractice, administrative law, and commercial litigation.
