About Jake Caroll
Jake Carroll is an associate in the firm’s Construction Law and Tort and Catastrophic Loss practice groups, where he represents corporations and manufacturers in a variety of litigation and corporate matters.

Mr. Carroll’s construction practice encompasses representing contractors, subcontractors, owners, architects, engineers, and sureties, in a variety of disputes involving contracts, business torts, multi-party construction defects, and warranties. Mr. Carroll pursues and defends lien, and payment and performance bond claims on behalf of owners, contractors, and sureties. He is an active member of the Construction Section of the Atlanta Bar Association, and frequently authors articles on construction-related topics.

In addition to his construction practice, Mr. Carroll advises businesses in commercial and financial disputes involving breach of contract, breach of warranty, business torts, and products liability claims. Mr. Carroll represents the Firm’s construction and commercial clients as creditors in debtor/creditor litigation and bankruptcy, including liquidations under Chapter 7, reorganizations under Chapters 11, and adversary proceedings. Recognizing that traditional litigation is not always in the clients’ best interest, Mr. Carroll negotiates pre- and post-litigation settlements, and has represented parties in arbitrations and mediations.

Contributing to his community, Mr. Carroll serves as a member of the Firm’s pro bono committee, and provides pro bono legal services to low-income clients facing eviction and imminent homelessness, and volunteers.

Mr. Carroll received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia (B.B.A) and his law degree from Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law (J.D., magna cum laude), where he was awarded the Faculty Award for Legal Writing, served as the Student Writing Editor of the Mercer Law Review, and interned for the Honorable C. Ashley Royal, United States District Judge in the Middle District of Georgia. Prior to joining FMG, Mr. Carroll completed a two-year clerkship for the Honorable Charles H. Weigle, United States Magistrate Judge in the Middle District of Georgia. He is licensed to practice in both Georgia and Florida.

When Mr. Carroll is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son, cooking, and traveling.
