Brent is a lifelong Alaskan who grew up in Fairbanks and graduated from Lathrop High School in 1976. After high school, Mr. Cole worked in the Laborers Union Local 942 to put himself through college and law school. He attended Dartmouth College where he graduated in 1981 with a bachelors degree in Political Science. After college, Mr. Cole attended McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. While still at McGeorge, he worked in the summer of 1983 for Senator Ted Stevens as an Assistant Legislative Aide in Washington, D.C. After law school, Mr. Cole moved to Anchorage and clerked for one year with Seaborne J. Buckalew, a Superior Court Judge.
