how can a contractor using your service place a lien on our property, when service was for our tenant's business only?

CaliforniaLien on Funds

i am a landlord who received paperwork from levelset, claiming a contractor may end up taking out a lien on our property due to payment issues for work performed for our tenant. we have a triple net lease with tenant, and are not obligated to pay for their service work. isn't this software just giving the contractor a false green light to put a lien on our property rather than a lien on our tenant, as it should be?

A mechanics' lien attached to the property where the work is being performed, regardless of who contracts for the work to be performed.  Generally, lease agreements require tenants to keep the property free from liens.  I recommend checking your lease agreement and demand that your tenant have the lien removed.  Your tenant can have the lien removed by paying the contractor and/or bonding around the lien.
