The History
Like most suppliers, Drake Ready Mix is far from the top of the payment chain. General Manager Annie Drake knew that sending preliminary notices (known in Florida as a Notice to Owner or NTO) on almost all of their jobs was vital to protecting their lien rights and encouraging their customers to pay within a 30-day period. Although Annie worked with a national credit management association to send NTOs, she had to pick and choose which ones to send since the process was burdensome.
The Changes
