About Alaska Notice of Completion Form
The Alaska Notice of Completion form is generally recorded at the completion of work on a construction project. The notice must be served on any claimant who gave a Notice of Lien Rights or a Stop Notice at least 10 days prior to filing the notice.
This document is typically filed by the property owner, or the owner’s agent, to signify the completion of the project. The effect of a properly recorded Notice of Completion is to reduce the time to record an Alaska mechanics lien to just 15 days after the notice was recorded. However, if the claimant files a Notice of Right to lien at any point during the project before the 15-day deadline, the filing deadline is reset to 120 days.
