Davis-Bacon Act

A federal law that requires workers on public works projects to be paid a "prevailing wage" for their labor. Each state has its own version, so-called "Little Davis-Bacon Acts"
When working on a federal construction project, this act requires that a minimum wage be paid to all participants, and contractors are required to submit certified payrolls, and keep payment records for a certain period of time.
