Panelists on stage during the Construction Credit Summit Sacramento 2022

On June 23, 2022, Levelset held the third of four Construction Credit Summits at the Topgolf in Roseville, California, just outside of Sacramento. This summit provided over 75 professionals in credit, accounting, and finance with the opportunity to learn from industry experts, build relationships, and connect with partners and sponsors. We spent the evening networking and sharing stories with peers – and competing for the 2022 Construction Credit Summit’s Golf Championship!

Lien law, construction fraud & account rehabilitation

In Sacramento we were excited to have top industry professionals teaching a wide range of topics, including:

  • California Lien and Bond Laws
  • Construction Fraud
  • Rehabilitation of Questionable Accounts
  • Pivoting after the great Recession
  • Trends and Expectations in 2022
  • Credit Bootcamp

During the day, construction attorney Mark Johnson with Lanak & Hannah led a session on California Lien Law focusing on preliminary notices, job research, and bond claims.

Prior to presenting the next speaker I had the pleasure of awarding the June Credit Manager of the Month, in person!  It is always a special treat to recognize someone who has been nominated by their peers, but being able to celebrate someone in person comes with its own rewards. D’Ann Johnson, CCE with A’Core Concrete Cutting was celebrated for her mentorship, leadership and willingness to always help when needed.

D’Ann Johnson with A’Core Concrete Cutting joined us from Utah to talk construction fraud.

Some key takeaways:

  • Multiple types of fraud to keep an eye out for
  • Ransomware is huge in 2022
  • Internal Fraud is as risky as external fraud

Allan Francis with Levelset discussed how to rehabilitate delinquent and problematic customers.

Kathleen Quill with HighRadius and Nick Ezzo with Auditoria  joined forces and talked about the game plan to transform your A/R with AI (artificial intelligence) and how it can be your best friend, not a job stealer.

Early on, attendees participated in breakout meetings and conversations with the partners from around the globe, pausing only for lunch and coffee breaks.

Attendees were engaged, excited and open to the opportunity to learn and connect with event partners: HighRadius, CreditSafe, Auditoria, Caine & Weiner, BlueTape, and VersaPay.  These events wouldn’t be possible without their support!
