It is advisable to have an attorney when filing legal papers to insure that the rights of all parties are protected and that all procedures are correctly followed. The Clerk’s employees are prohibited by state law from furnishing legal advice (OCGA 15-19-851).

Lien eFiling facilitates the electronic filing of lien documents via the Georgia Superior Court Clerks’ Cooperative Authority eFile portal at https://efile.gsccca.org/Home.aspx. The Authority can accept lien documents for filing on behalf of participating counties using two different methods:

METHOD 1: Interested filers can contact one of the value added submitters listed below, who have demonstrated the ability to submit lien documents through the Authority portal. Payment for filings will be handled through an agreement with the selected value added submitter.

METHOD 2: All payments for filings submitted directly through the Authority eFile portal must be paid by credit card, bank account ACH transfer or escrow account. Note that a 3.5% transaction fee is applied to credit card payments and a $1.00 transaction fee is applied to bank account ACH transfers to cover costs.

The Floyd County Clerk of Superior Court’s Office does not publicly disclose information on recording backlog.

The Floyd County Clerk of Superior Court’s Office does not accept faxed documents for recording. They must have original signatures.

The Floyd County Clerk of Superior Court’s recording fees are as follows:

Lien Fees

Materialmen Liens: $5.00 for the first page and $2.00 for each additional page

Cancellation of Liens: $ 5.00 for the first page, $2.00 for each additional page, plus $2.00 per cancellation for cross-referencing/indexing

Execution or Lien Recording: $5.00 first page for the first page and $2.00 for each additional page

Cancellation or Release or GED: $5.00 for the first page, $2.00 for each additional page, plus $2.00 per cancellation/release for cross-referencing/indexing

Hospital Lien, Hospital Lien Cancellation or Release: $5.00 for the first page, $2.00 for each additional page, plus $2.00 for cross-referencing/indexing

Federal Tax Lien or Federal Tax Lien Discharge: $5.00 for the first page and $2.00 for each additional page

Federal Tax Lien Release or Subordination: $5.00 for the first page, $2.00 for each additional page, plus $2.00 for cross-referencing/indexing.

Notice Of Commencements: $10.00 for the first page and $2.00 for each additional page

Real Estate Notice Filing (UCC-2): $10.00 for the first page and $2.00 for each additional page

Personal Property Lien (Non-UCC): $5.00 for the first page and $2.00 for each additional page

Copy, Uncertified, unassisted: $0.50 per page
Copy, Uncertified, if assistance is required: $1.00 per page
Copy, Certified or Exemplified: $2.50 for the first page

By Mail

If you need to request a copy of the document through the mail, send a letter indicating the type of document and the book and page number of the document. The cost is one dollar ($1.00) per page. If you need a court certified copy, the cost is two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) for the first page of the document and fifty cents ($0.50) for each additional page. The mailing address is :

A limited number of records are available on the Georgia Superior Court Clerk’s Cooperative Authority website. The address is – www.gsccca.org. There is a fee for this service. If the information is not available at this website, you will have to go to the Courthouse and search the records.
