Our Board of Directors Team
A husband, dad, & entrepreneur in New Orleans, Scott founded Levelset to even the $1 trillion construction playing field and make payments easier, faster, and more predictable. Levelset is used by thousands of contractors and suppliers nationwide to make payments easier on billions in contract value each year. Scott is a licensed attorney who previously practiced construction law. Recognized by New Orleans City Business as an “Innovator of the Year” and part of their “Leadership in Law Hall of Fame,” Scott has been on the Silicon Bayou 100 list every year since 2014, is a winner of Idea Village & Jim Coulter’s IDEAPitch, is the ACG’s reigning Emerging Growth Company, and a Junior Achievement Rising Star.
Karla Friede is co-founder of Nvoicepay, a FLEETCOR company, and served as CEO for its first 11 years. She has over 30 years of experience in management, finance, and marketing roles in both large and early-stage companies. Karla, along with the founding team, has grown Nvoicepay into a leading B2B payment automation solution provider. Prior to founding Nvoicepay, she was President and CEO of privately held Zevez Corporation, VP of Marketing for GeoTrust (acquired by Verisign in 2006), Director of Marketing at Mentor Graphics, and part of the PBAS team at KPMG. Karla earned an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business and a BS in Accounting from the University of Idaho.
Bart Swanson is currently an advisor at Horizons Ventures, a venture capital firm based in Hong Kong with a focus on disruptive and technology-focused start-ups. Mr. Swanson is on the boards of Zoom Video Communications Inc, Impossible Foods, Modern Meadow, Benevolent AI, Brightseed, AiSense, Evolv.ai, LeoLabs, Rubikloud, Saildrone and several other technology companies. Previously, Bart was Chairman of the Board of Summly Ltd. from 2012 up until 2013 when the company was acquired by Yahoo. During 2010 and 2011 Bart was Chief Operating Officer of Badoo, one of the largest Internet social dating sites, prior to which Bart spent three years as Managing Director at GSI Commerce International (later eBay Enterprise). Before joining GSI Commerce International, Bart was a General Manager at Amazon, where he was one of the key executives in establishing and expanding Amazon.com’s footprint in Germany, France and the United Kingdom. Bart graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s degree in History and from the University of Pennsylvania with an MA in International Studies, as well as an MBA from Wharton.
Michael S. Gollner is the Founder of Operating Capital Partners LLP. He has served at Court Square Capital Partners and Citigroup Venture Capital, after working for ten years in European Mergers and Acquisitions Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs International and Lehman Brothers International.
A serial entrepreneur, I’ve had the good fortune to be co-founder of four companies. They ran the gamut from enterprise software to consumer services. Their products were adopted at scale, with Motive technology embedded in more than 50 million devices worldwide and Spiceworks used by 6+ million IT Pro's monthly. Collectively these companies employed more than 1,000 people and generated more than $600M in revenue. Now I spend my time advising entrepreneurs and helping them turn their dreams into reality.

Darren Bechtel brings over 7 years of engineering, product and architectural design, and construction management professional experience to the Brick & Mortar team, as well as over 8 years of venture investing as the founder and managing director of South Park Ventures.

Nate manages and oversees Levelset products, processes, and resources, directs the Construction Payment Blog, protects Levelset's interests and intellectual property, and performs general counsel duties.
Bradford oversees corporate operations, finance, investor and board relations, business intelligence, and people operations, and manages Levelset's strategy, planning, and strategic alignment.
Brian oversees all marketing operations including the Content and Growth teams, and manages the direction for Levelset's marketing strategy.
Our Credit Mgr Advisors Team
History of accomplishments in associations, private higher education, and health care. Demonstrated leadership in raising nearly $100 million through comprehensive campaigns, major gift and annual fundraising; community grant making; corporate and foundation relations; marketing, advertising and public relations; organizational and financial management; board management and recruitment. Experience in campus technology and master planning, major facility construction, and tax-exempt bond financing. Knowledge and understanding of diverse Northwest and Pacific Island diverse communities. Strong communication skills in office, boardroom and constituent levels. Successful in developing and mentoring staff. Host and producer of "The Credit Roundtable" podcast designed for commercial credit professionals and others interested in the important but often forgotten world of the credit department.
With over 25 years’ experience in the building materials industry, Jen is focused on promoting robust process and credit best practices that produce measurable results and excellence in cashflow management. A strong advocate of the “credit is an extension of sales” philosophy allows her to create value and lasting relationships with sub-contractors, GCs, vendors, and suppliers alike. Jen began her career in project administration, working on local construction sites with general contractors, Etkin Skanska and Neenan Archistruction, before settling in the credit & collection field. After graduating with honors and a degree in business management from Regis University, she advanced thru national leadership positions with Lafarge Holcim and the Roofing Supply Group; including roles in sales leadership and order to cash optimization, these experiences helped hone her focus on relationships, customer needs and the importance of cashflow. Jen currently serves as Senior Director of Credit & Accounts Receivable for Kodiak Building Partners, charting a new path to receivable & collection excellence by empowering local credit professionals to excel at credit best practices while keeping decision making close to the customer.
Craig Webb is president of Webb Analytics and one of the nation’s leading experts on building material dealers and distributors. He spent 12 years as editor-in-chief of ProSales, the nation’s most honored publication for building material dealers, as well as five years as editor-in-chief of Remodeling magazine. Webb Analytics builds and expands on Craig’s lifelong career in the news and information businesses. He has worked for The Wall Street Journal, McGraw-Hill, United Press International and a variety of magazines, newsletters and newspapers in the U.S. and Europe. He has traveled to 49 states and several foreign countries visiting dealers, builders and remodelers. That legwork is the foundation of the research, data reports, speeches, and consulting that Webb Analytics has provided since its founding in September 2018. Webb was born just outside Washington, D.C., grew up in South Bend, Ind., and received his bachelor’s degree in journalism and history from Indiana University in 1976. He lives in Washington.
A credit & finance leader in the building material supply space for over 15 years, today Rachel is the Director of Financial Services for one of the Country’s largest roofing material distributors, SRS Distribution. She leads a team of credit professionals who are responsible for Credit/Finance decisions for 111 branches with A/R that exceeds 1.5B annually and is still growing. She strongly believes that partnering with sales is key and building relationships are 2 building blocks needed for a successful credit department along with following basic credit fundamentals and listening to your GUT. Rachel started her career in Credit at Shelter Distribution in 2005 in Accounts Receivable. After Beacon acquired Shelter Distribution in late 2005, Rachel quickly moved into the Credit Department as a Credit Manager working her way up to Regional Credit Manager responsible for $1.2B in receivables across 75 branches. She managed a team of whose portfolios included residential and commercial roofing, waterproofing, insulation and other complementary building products such as siding, windows and stucco. Rachel is in her third year as a Board Member for the National Women in Roofing (NWIR)’s DFW Council. She is also a member of SRS Women’s Leadership Forum. She also participates heavily in NACM Southwest credit groups along with Texas Statewide Construction group. Originally from Austin, Rachel currently resides in McKinney with her husband David and their blended family of six children (1 girl and 5 boys ranging from 13 to 27 years of age). In her spare time she enjoys camping, fishing, spending time at the lake or the beach as well as taking vacations to new places.
For more than 15 years, Barry has been the Credit Director for Emser Tile, the leading supplier of the world’s finest tile and natural stone, servicing over 10k active accounts for homebuilders, commercial builders, contractors, architects, and others in the building industry. His time at Emser Tile is part of his 25+ years of credit and leadership experience. He is an Executive Award winner at NACM’s Graduate School of Credit and Financial Management (2017-18), and a graduate of the University of Southern California.
Thea has over 30 years of credit, collection management experience, developing effective shared services processes and assessing company’s back office needs to improve efficiencies. Highly skilled in all area’s of the credit and collections process, negotiations and communication in construction industry working in with manufacturers, dealers, general contractors and sub-contractors. In her over three decades of work as a credit and collections officer, Thea Dudley, known in the industry as the Credit Overlord, has trekked across deserts to recover goods, taken FBI interrogation classes to learn negotiators “tells” and suffered through more lame reasons for extending credit then she can count. She knows how to decide whose worthy of credit and how to go after those who abuse the privilege. Starting her career working for her sub-contractor father, she went on to work with leading industry distribution companies, including her husband’s family lumber business, working in and leading the one person – nationwide credit teams, serving as Vice President of Financial Services at Guardian Building Products and SRS Distribution, Inc. before starting Pocket Protectors LLC. Thea is an inspiring leader and coach who promotes the philosophy of there is enough spotlight for everyone to contribute and shine while bringing out the most from her teams. Her focus on building customer focused teams who understand sales and credit go hand in hand. She is a national speaker, author and columnist. Her work appears in LBM Journal and ProSales Magazine and serves on several Industry Boards. She is the author of The Credit Overlord’s Guide to Credit & Collections. Nate sits on the front line of phone, email, and chat support requests. He has a long history of user and technical support and will work hard to get users what they need to succeed with our platform! Nate is also a musician, avid home cook, and Boston sports fanatic.
Nar is in love with software development. He was 14 when he first started programming and has not lost his passion for the 32 years since. Nar started with programming home computer games using old flavors of BASIC, passing by desktop products and web applications using various languages and technologies and through architecting and managing the build of a Big Data platform using multiple backend technologies, NoSQL database and client apps with C#, JavaScript, Java and Swift. Nar took all the steps of the Software roles ladder from a junior developer, senior, team leader, department manager, technical manager to the Cofounder and CTO of a startup. He also worked in various types of organizations (big local, regional, multinational and startup). Nar’s belief is that great software products are built by motivated, cohesive and disciplined people.

Mostafa is a young entrepreneur and a software testing engineer. He graduated from Cairo University Faculty of Computers & Information. He has worked for the past 6 years as a part-time IGCSE ICT Teacher, and ran his own small business (a printing centre & IGCSE school books Distributer) for 4 years before joining the Levelset team.
