in Nevada does the 50% cap on retention only apply to public projects?
ArizonaRepair company For water damage to my FL home wants 100% upfront for “materials.”
I want to use “ retainage” as allowed to insure prompt and satisfactory completion, having read of instances where terrible issues occurred where a company received 100% then never completed the work.

FloridaI have a lien that has had half of it paid off. I want to release one person and leave another still on the hook without affecting the person who has paid their share. Is there a way to transfer the lien and use a different piece of property or even garnishment or something?
WashingtonK&P Commercial Contractors is an Out-of-State contractor working on a hotel project in NC. Due to COVID our project has been delayed and we are approaching the 120 day lien filing deadline. However we still have equipment on site that we have been invoicing each month. Can this equipment be treated as "Material Provided" and extend our filing deadline?

TexasI'm a subcontractor that performed framing on a commercial project in Texas, everything was paid except the 10% retain for issues between the owner and the general contractor. Our trade was completed and the only reason i haven't been paid is because of a disagreement between the owner and GC unrelated to my work. The retain invoice was due 12/23/2019 and i still haven't been paid. can i still file a lien on the property? owner and GC says that as soon as they come to an agreement i will get paid but it has been 5 months already and they cant seem to reach an agreement. My contract says that i am entitled to legal fees compensation if i win the case.

TexasWe are a manufacturer's rep for commercial HVAC equipment - meaning we purchase from the manufacturer and then ship it to a job site. We bill the mechanical contractor who ordered it from us and they do the installation (set the unit, piping, etc.) and then part of our obligation is to provide a factory authorized company to officially start up the unit, who we hire and pay as a subcontractor. Question is - when we bill the mechanical contractor for the unit, they are holding 10% retainage on our invoices. Note that we do not bill the entire amount of our sale to them (for example, if the unit is $25,000, we bill only $24,000 and leave $1,000 balance to bill when the unit has been satisfactorily started up. Do they have the right to hold this 10% of the $24,000? If not, can I get a copy of the law that addresses this? Thanks!
New Yorka second-tier subcontractor filed a lien on a property Macomb, MI. The current plan is for a check to be written directly to the lien claimant, however, 10% retainage is withheld on the project. Would releasing retainage to the lien claimant violate the Michigan Property Code? Would the owner of the property lose protection the Property Code provided by releasing the retainage?
MichiganThe original balance on a job we did was $45,275.10. The preliminary notice was filed in a timely manner by Levelset. We have been paid everything but the retention of $4527.50. It seems "bad form" to file a stop notice because of retention, but what is the right thing to do?

A prime contractor is withholding 10% retainage, even though it is not part of the contract.
He is then holding funds for damages to the landscape by equipment, and final funds for the equipment rental.
Colorado I am a subcontractor to a mechanical contractor in Georgia.
The mechanical has a large contract with a GC that is doing a project at a public College.
We have completed our part of the work over three months ago and submitted for payment and got paid all but 10% of the project.
The mechanical contractors contract is on going and they say that we cannot get paid until his contract is completed and he submits for payment for our retainage along with his.
Is this correct or is he required to submit for our retainage since we have completed our part of the project before he submits for his retainage.?
