I did some work for a prime sub-contractor at Nellis Air Force Base, while doing the original work we found more damage in the fire chases and i was instructed by Ellard Comstock senor project manager who ran the las vegas office, to do the repairs, he even gave us a drawing of how he wanted us to do the repairs, i have a letter of intent from him and since he no longer works for Northcon I asked him if he would write a statemnt for me and he did. I also have daliy reports where it states that i was doing the work and no one ever stopped us from continuing the work. I was in constant contact with Ellard and the super on site. the job was put on hold back in April of 2019 due to mold and i was told in 2020 that the job would be shut down permantly and northcon would no longer be part of it and i was asked to rebid it but for the prime, after the mold was removed . i then put in for the extra work done in the fire chases and i was told NO, because there was no change order. NOTE: I did another job for them at the same base and i also had a hard time getting paid. ive gone to the contractors office and have been told that i am not the only one that has problems getting paid from them and that other contractors have complained about them. Thank You Olivia Carlos...Read More

I signed a contract for a custom home to be built. Contract was signed in June of 2019 with wording in the contract of completion "on or about" 6 months. This is in Virginia. It is now coming up on August and the punchlist is still not complete but I am living in the home. Because of their delay, I had to stay in my home that I was going to sell, paying mortgage/utilities/ taxes etc. There are many other issues, too many to list here but I also wonder if I have any recourse when I repeatedly asked them to notify if I was going to go over the estimate and then they sent me a final invoice that put me over 40k over their high end of the estimate. An estimate that I was assured had a pad in it. So I guess I am asking if I have any standing for a possible breach of contract for the delay and/or fraud for the overcharging?...Read More

Does the property owner of property being liened have an opportunity to respond to the lien if it is not warranted? In my case, the contractor gutted my house without my permission, and therefore did not fulfill his contract with me to deliver a turn key home ready for rental. What recourse do I have?...Read More

I am doing currently a job for my builder. I am wiring a new 4 unit town homes in Denver, Colorado. I pulled an electrical permits for all 4 units. I finished roughing in and pass my electrical inspection. My builder or also an owner decided to make a major changing to raising the ceiling in the kitchen and dining area. He hired a demo crew without even telling me. The he rewired all the kitchen and dining room area. When I last got there the drywall is already textured and paint. I am seeing a lot of mistakes, mis wired, basically a few electrical lights and outlets won't work. The ceiling will need to be tear out again to fish the wires again. I keep telling my builder or an owner he says that he can do whatever he wants. He told me not to show up on the site at all. My contract says I will get paid after full rough in 50 % . And I will get paid 50 % after the trim pass inspection. So I am afraid that i will not get paid at all. I told him I will file a mechanics lien he says that he will buy the bond out. So he doesn't care at all what I do. So I don't know what to do whom to call. I have spent a lot of money to rough in the building. All my profits is on the trim side. Help me please. Thanks....Read More

Contractor did work on my house. Added a landing to my deck. No additional cost was discussed. After work finished he charged me $850 for the landing and $600 for removal of trash. I paid everything quoted as the “estimate” but he still wants $958. I used the $500 deductible to pay the removal of trash. No he is threatening a lien. ...Read More

Hello, during the month of April, my electrical company from Texas was hired to do a job in Oklahoma, with a contractor from Texas. There was four different phases to the job, the first three were paid for, but the last one was not. We have sent reminders for the contractor to pay, but the money has yet to be seen. Do I file the mechanics of lien here in Texas or Oklahoma. Is it too late to file it? If it is, what do I need to do now so that my company can get paid. Thank you...Read More

I been working on a project for 9 weeks. The homeowner has micromanaged me by having me doing certain areas first and completing them to a finish. Instead of allowing me to do work in stages like hand all the drywall, then finish it, then paint it. Plus adding more work to the list like repairs caused by other contractors. Well I was fired for going over original set time. Now he says he won’t pay me for my work til another contractor completes it and that comes out of my pay or no pay at all....Read More
