I'm a subcontractor and performed a lot of work for a client and never paid us. He gave us a portion of the payment and said he didn't have more money and that he was not going to pay us. I already filed and sent through Levelset a notice of intent to lien and it looks like he already received it and chose the option "Dispute". So I don't think he is going to pay. What do we do now? Do we wait until the 10 days go by and then file a Lien or we need to do something else? Thanks...Read More

I am a material supplier to a GC on a commercial project. If the GC and Owner are the same (same mailing address, different company names) I was under the impression a pre lien notice was not needed. We are having a tough time getting final payment so I'm looking at filing a notice of intent to lien, but want to make sure we actually have lien rights. I did some work for a company BR Linwell who got a contract for doing some sports equipment installation at a college nearby since the project was state/federally funded it was a prevailing wage rate job.
