I provided design services to a client (FF& E), but she is refusing to pay the remaining balance. How do I go about collecting my $900 owed to me? She reached out to me through a neighbor, and confirmed that she wanted new furniture for her new build home. I told her it would $1,800.00, but that $900 would be due upfront and the remaining due at completion of researching materials. She did pay the original $900, but due to her own personal choices, she decided to halt all future work, therefor owing me $900. I sent her an invoice for unpaid services, and she replied back stating that she does not owe me....Read More
I am a subcontractor for HVAC work done at a Gold's Gym in Arlington VA.
Our supplier York international who provided roof top units has filed a lien for non payment
We are being told by the owner and GC that they must submit a release in order to get final payment. However, I have not been paid in full as they are submitting back charges that we were never made aware of until yesterday and the project t is complete. They owe Over $60,000 in retainage and CO but want to reduce our contract about $17,000. Do we legally have to pay YORK to release the lien even if we are not fully paid?
I have signed a partial lien waiver for portions of this contract.

My company is from out of state, and has been working on a half million dollar renovation project in GA for the past year. During COVID, we were forced to slow production, due to government restrictions. Once they were lifted, work resumed as usual. During our tenure there, the owner has added many change orders, which have been completed. They were billed for those change orders on June 13, 2020. We met with the owner and their bank, regarding the additional charges, funds were approved. Now they're refusing to pay and have hired a new company, that's already on site and working....Read More
