I'm a cleaning vendor operating in Snowshoe WV. I have an outstanding balance do on a property that I currently clean. I have just recently found out the property has been sold and is closing on the 29th of this month. I was told this by the rental management company and not the owner. This gentleman has both a past and current amount due. He has said he will pay the invoice due immediately, however, he refuses to pay.
Can I file a mechanics lien against the property while he still owns it? And if yes, what happens to his closing?
West VirginiaI have done every thing this job started may 2020 we did part of the job by June 2020 the owner just got home from hospital did work here and there oct 2020 went back to complete the job and the owner had died so we did some more work the wife asked if we could come back in December and finish the job and she will take care of us so December 21 2020 we completed the job and the wife said I would have to go to the HEWITT ESTATE TO GET PAID SO I GOT AHOKD OF TGE ADMENASTRATER THAT WAS HANDLING THE HEWITT ESTATE AND TRYED TO GET PAID BY HER SHE WAS NOT PAYING IT EITHER SO I DID A INTENT TO LIEN IN FEB I WAIT 2 months NO ANSWER SO I DID THE MECHANIC LEAN I SENT A NITHER INTENT TO LIEN NO ANSWER SO APRIL I FILED THE LIEN WITH DENVER COUNTY CLERKS RECORDERS I GET A CALL FROM THE TITEL PEOPLE TI VERIFY MY SIGNATURE I SAID NO PROBLEM SHE SAID SHE WOULD GET BACK TO ME TO VERIFY MY SIGNATURE I SAID THAT WAS FINE SHE SAID THEY ARE SALING THE HOUSE ON THE SEPT 30 SO AFTER MY SIGNATURE WAS VERIFIED THEY WOUKD PAYME I SAID GREAT. WELL TWO DAYS AFTER THAT TGE TITEL LADY CALLED ME SND SAID THAT THE LIEN IS NO GOOD AND THEY HAVE REMOVED THE LIEN AND THEY WHERENT PAYING ME BECAUSE THE PROBATE LAWYER THAT IS HANDLING THE ESTATE TOLD THE TITEL PEOPLE THAT DONT WORRY ABOUT THAT LIEN IT IS NO GOOD SO I GO BACK TO THE DENVER CLERK RECORDERS TO SEE IF THE LIEN HAS BEEN REMOVED IT WAS STILL ON FILE AND THE CLERK TOLD ME I HAVE ONE MONTH THAT I NEED TO GET A JUDGEMENT THROUGH THE COURTS TO MAKE SURE I GET MY MONEY I DONT KNOW HOW ABOUTS TO GO TO GET THAT JUDGEMENT AND THEY ARE SALING THE HOME WITH MY LIEN ON THE PROPERTY BECAUSE THE TITEL PEOPLE SAID THE PROBATE LAWYER SAID TO GO A HEAD WITH TGE SALE AND DONT WORRY ABOUT THAT LIEN SO TGAT IS WHAT THEY ARE DOING WHAT CAN I DO TO GET MT MONEY THSNK YOU

NevadaI purchased a property on August 9th. The owner had work done to the property that they thought was covered by insurance. The insurance company didnt cover the work. The contractor filed a lien against the property after I purchased it and I was unaware at the time of purchase that there was anything unpaid. What is the recourse for something like this.
South DakotaIf a contractor is doing a 25k job and towards completion requests for payment before completing the job. Can they request a Mechanics Lien? They have yet to complete the job. While the owner is waiting for them to finish the work before paying.
AlabamaI bought in cash an adjoining land of a construction project and gave easement to my client. if i hadnt they would not get the DES SEPTIC APPROVAL FOR build and CofO since their civil made a mistake. It was mutually agreed the client would pay taxes on that land and purchase outright from me. Neither has happened and ive paid all to date. they brought a new investor in and did not include my land cost allocation in funding needed. Approx $150k Can i file a mechanics lien? Its a verbal agreement that was discussed many times. They wont relinquish easement either.

WashingtonHi there! I completed work on a home in la jolla Ca for inside and out window cleaning. The home owner is now reporting that there are scratches on 6 Panes of glass and is refusing to pay. The windows in question were cleaned the same way every other window in the house was cleaned and the home owner was informed of the equipment we would be using to clean the windows. I told the home owner that he should contact the window installers because it looks like the window was installed backwards and the low e coating is on the outside. The home owner is insisting on running my insurance even though I explained to him that the damage was not caused by faulty workmanship. I already filed a 20 day preliminary notice for a lien but I want to know if he would have a case if he chose to take me to court for damages and what I should do to protect my company.
CaliforniaMy client is being very unreasonable, very nit picky, have been doing extra work that she is asking for, I’ve been trying to work with her but she now refuses to pay and I can’t keep going with no pay for my workers. Unfortunately the contract states that the remaining balance is due at end of project, but with all the unrealistic redos she’s been asking of us, we can’t continue.

MissouriI performed work as a laborer for a homeowner who owns three personal properties. The work consisted of painting the interior and exterior of the homes and property management which consisted of lawn mowing, minor repairs, etc. while the homeowner was out of town for 4 months. I began doing this work approximately 2 years ago, and obtained a written agreement from the homeowner that I would do all the labor on is properties at a heavily discounted rate. The discounted rate was agreed to because the agreement called for me profiting from the eventual sales of the properties. The amount owed to me for property management fees are approximately $3,900.00 and the approximate profit coming to me from the eventual sales of the three properties is between $50,000 to $60,000. The homeowner is now telling me that he will not honor the original written agreement and is refusing to pay me the property management fees and will not pay me my share of the profit upon the sale of the three properties.
