Hello,
I am trying to find some help for my friend. A restoration company put a lien on her house. She had a house fire and they came in and were supposed to give her an estimate and let her know how much it was going to cost. They did not do that. The restoration company started working and did not do a good job and was fired. Her dad took over and did all the repairs/renovations and/or got contractors for the home to be habitable. Now she gets a lien put on her house for $32,000. Do you have any advice? Should we handle it ourselves or get a lawyer?
Pennsylvanialicense? A subcontractor n did a started a job n April finished n June and the company has been sending me emails saying they r gna send me the check for outstanding invoices for the job and still haven't received payment!
FloridaI'm a subcontractor and we can't get payment for two projects with the same contractor at two differnent location in SC. Can we file some type of lien? Our last day on was June 24th. 2021.
On the level set site it shows: Enforce your claim due in 2 weeks. This would be a foreclosure lien. We didn't file a regular lien. Do we have any options?
South CarolinaI am a subcontractor who was hired by a general contractor for a home remodel. He never paid my final payment. I was told by the home owner i can not file a lien against his home where the work took place because he did not hire me and its the general contractors problem.

MichiganI am a project manager. I was hired to find a gc, all subs and all supplies for basement remodeling.
Client decided to not pay anything above what I paid out and we lost 20,000.00 that we were really planning on when we got nixed from the job.
On a deadline of a baby due date we busted our tails to complete on time. The drywaller that was hired through another gc on the project (framer) , was paid in full and decided to go to the homeowner and say he was not. He ransomed the job for almost a month. So to be done in time,, we hired our team to go in a knock it out with us.. We bought all supplies and half way through he shows up. He talked bad about all of our work (that was not complete!!!) and the homeowner listened to him and not me. Not sure why. He told him that it all needed to come down, drywall and all. (He hung the drywall btw) HO heard he could finish faster and not only paid him AGAIN, but paid him 5000.00 to tear out everything we did. It only needed to be sanded and thats all he did.. He never removed anything!
HO said he'd take care of it, and we could go.
Mind blown.
I think my only option is to file a lein to be reimbersed. Is that correct?
I put in 3 months of work on this job. We did everything. We hired electrician, plumber, hvac, bathroom, carpet (which I canceled) framer, insulation and GC. I applied for and obtained permits, and met inspectors, with GC and was there for every thing that needed to be done. My team was there, my company was very much responsible for the successfully completed jobs.
We need to pay the people who werent paid in the process.
Also is there anyone who take payment out of what we win? We have lost everything.

ColoradoWe filed notice of mechanic lien and sent certified mail that was returned to sender. The GC, resident, and property owner all returned to sender. Also, GC sent a reply that he's not going to pay. So, our question is we have not completed the 90 day notice of mechanic lien process so can we file the actual mechanics lien today without jeopardizing our remedies, and recourse of our claim? We also sent them service of notice in person.

Californiai have a project that was increase in value by a change order by more then 100%. Do i need to file an additional pre lien?
CaliforniaI completed a job for a client and we had no written contract, about 6months ago but there was a request by the owner wanting me to deliver an assortment of stainless steel screws of different sizes and because of the color of the metal used on the job! I dropped them off about 45days ago. So can I still file a mechanics lien because I read that you have 60days from the time you last finished labor and or final delivery of materials? Can I still file the mechanic,s lien?
OhioI had $28,000 stolen from me the cashiers check to pay off my brand new car. I tried to steal the car but I got it back but they did take the check. Is there anything I can do to get my money back or put a lien on the house or anything at all? I have all the evidence of misappropriation of funds or embezzlement. Written.
