my lein is up in 4 days and I need to file a suit to keep the lein in place while I take her to court.

My lien is set to expire in 7 days.
NevadaA customer has called me off the job of painting his upstairs interior with aspects of patch and repair walls and ceilings due to a preexisting water leak in roof . During the course the customer has had two house fires downstairs in his kitchen in two different locations which the fire dept was called each time. His 50% deposit was paid for. He now holds all my equipment and has hired a new crew to go over my work because he could not wait to be rescheduled until a full arson investigation was completed (still pending). My wife who works with me as a partner, and I both suffered smoke inhilation and I hurt my back. Trying to put out the first fire. This customer has had me served in Small Claims for his money back without discussing with me. The nature of his dispute is I cost too much compared to his newer hire. And he could not wait in due course for us to reschedule. After he praised our work he has publically bad mouth my work on social media. And my company holds a 5 star rating with home advisor and angie's list. We have never had a complaint. I am now forced into this fight for my reputation and will have to file mechanics lean. We have photos and documentation plus he breached our contract with this arson investigation which we have not yet been cleared.
LouisianaCan a contractor put a mechanics lien on my property but never did any work to my property? In other words they didn't touch my house at all. Plus it's been more than 90 days in Broward County state of Florida.
FloridaI want to know how I can get this contractor to lower my bill or redo faulty work due to fraud, lies and damages. I am a senior living in a senior mobile home community. I thought I was vetting this company well and they had good reviews, the correct licenses, and had been in business many years working on mobile home. I had 3 other quotes but theirs seemed like the best value because they including new plumbing in the contract for the same price as others didn't. $15,000. The problems began and continued after each stage of the work. First they did the plumbing and said it would cost more to take out the old plumbing out so, suggested they should leave it. When they did the new plumbing they caused the toilet to run constantly and it wouldn't flush. It took them 2 weeks to send someone to fix it and it ran up my water bill by an additional $50. After two tries they ended up replacing the toilet with a round seat instead of the oval one I had originally. So they had to replace the new toilet with the another new toilet. They caused the kitchen sink to leak and eventually resolved that leak. I kept a pan under it until they returned. Also they hooked up the washing machine wrong and caused it to leak and ruin the floor so they had to replace the laundry room floor which was not in the contract quote. They left large holes under the sinks and old pipes sticking up out of the floor. Those were eventually fixed when I complained. Then they wanted to put the insulation and moisture barrier in before they took out the old wet water damaged floors. I talked to the General Manager and told him that I thought they were scheduling it backwards and the old wet flooring would fall into the new insulations. He assured me it was okay. It took 2 men the first day and one the second to take out the old smelly wet insulation and put in new. They didn't finish so I had a call from the contractors office late afternoon that "Nick" was coming to finish the work. He never showed up to finish the work BUT he LIED and told the office that he had. When Ian, the foreman, came to correct the holes in the floor he verified that the insulation wasn't finished. So the next thing I knew men came and did the new insulation / moisture barrier in spite of my warning. When the men came to replace the floors I peeked in and saw what had happened. I took photos of the damage that was caused when the floor subcontractors cut into the old flooring. The insulation was cut and wet debris from the old floor had fallen into the new insulation as I had said it would. They tried to vacuum it out but the damage was already done. I emailed the office and asked for them to redo the insulation or reduce my bill. A week later they wrote back and LIED saying that the foreman, Ian, had replaced it. My son and I know this is another LIE because Ian worked on the laundry room floor all afternoon and told us he replaced the insulation and moisture barrier under the laundry room floor when he went under the house that day. If he had replaced the damaged barrier under the 2 bedrooms and hall it would have taken at least 2 days as it did when the work the first time. Also, we would have seen him remove the material from under the house. We also would have seen him with new several rolls of barrier. We didn't!
CaliforniaI completed work for a commercial property owner. We have 80% of work completed, and payment request was made to continue work. He requested a contrator change, and we agreed with payment made.. We have discrepancy with balance owed and he is agreeing to pay half. Email communication with coordinator on October 01,2019 for change order request as per city requirements we added materials to work and balance statements of payments made. Request for payment was made via email and mail service. The threat was placed September 01, 2020. What are my options for getting paid for work completed.

DelawareI'm a manager with no ownership interest for a small apartment building in CA. The owner asked me to remodel a unit, so I executed a contract with a licensed GC on behalf of the owner to perform the work. The licensed GC used day laborers (not on payroll) to perform the work. Everything went smoothly until the third week, when the day laborers told me they hadn't been paid for that week. Up until that point, I believe they were being paid in cash. Long story short, the GC ran off with the laborers money. My contract indemnifies me against this claim.
The laborers then placed a lien on the building, and the Labor Commission subsequently filed a lawsuit against me personally to recover unpaid wages.
The mechanics lien has several significant errors, including the wrong amount of days the laborers worked and a misrepresentation of the actual work completed. I have some evidence to support my claim that the alleged days work and work completed is incorrect.
CaliforniaI'm an independent hardwood flooring contractor with 30 years experience specializing in sand and finish (restoring wood floors). I have a client that is refusing to pay me ($6,360). I originally bid the job for stain of choice (per the wife's request) but after three days of sanding and prepping the floor for stain the husband got involved with the stain choice and he decided on natural (no stain). I bid the job for four coats of finish and even though they saw the floors during the four days that I was applying the natural finish they waited until I was completely finished with the job and demanded that I redo the entire floor with stain instead. I informed them that I was willing to redo the entire job and provide them with as many stain samples that they need so that they would both on the same page but since they already chose natural I would have to be paid in full for the work that I've already completed before proceeding. Currently I have placed a mechanics lien on the property through Levelset but I haven't received any response from client. I know that I have 90 to enforce the Lien but I'm not entirely sure what my next step should be.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated..
CaliforniaI am a contractor and I own a granite counter-top company in Kansas. I had recently completed a job for a residential customer in Missouri. Customer(homeowner) is trying to sue me in small claims court for defects and damages. Customer did sign a contract with my company (RockStar Granite LLC). Well I got served the papers and on the paper she is suing me personally and not my business. What are my options? Could judge dismiss the case?
KansasWe received a secondary notice of defect under ORS 701.565. We supplied construction co w/ materials over 1 yr ago and our invoices and packing slips all have stated notices of claims needing to be made within 5 business days of receipt of the products. The complaint assessment detail has no mention or photos of defective materials that we can find or see; the complaint notates poor installation and damage from not protecting surfaces throughout construction - all of which occurred after receipt of goods. How do we write a request for visual examination of the residence and who do we send it to? Do we send it to the attorneys involved or the homeowners directly? Do we need an attorney to do this for us? If so, do we get reimbursed legal fees if we are found not liable? Not sure how this all works. Thank you.
OregonMy A/C wasn't working I call a contractor to take CARE of the A/C he said we need a new A/C which he replace after three days the A/C stop working I called him he sent a none licence technician. the technician call me after very short time requesting to get paid for $120.00 he said he cleared drain line and adjust float switch. the contract I sign for the service INCLUDE one year free service I told him I will call THE BUSINESS owner to discussed the payment. when I called him he said what was done it's not related to the A/C. I told him this job should be done before you asked to get new A/C and I didn't pay him. now I find out after three years there is a notice on my property record it says -this is not a lien this is only an affidavit claiming a lien. now what do I need to do. I don't know if it's lien or not please give me advice.

TexasWe were told the owner was not going to pay the GC anymore and our retainage has not been paid. We just got into Level Set and missed the deadlines regarding notices. Is there any action we can take to get a lien on the property?
TexasWe completed work for this contractor in 2018 and collections have been unable to collect, so we plan to file a small claims suit against them. Do you have any information in the steps to accomplish this?
PennsylvaniaI added a mother in law suite to my son/daughter in laws home. I was to live the rest of my life with them there. They sold the house and kicked me to the curb. A lot happened, however they made $75,000 and have not paid me anything. An attorney sent them a demand for payment letter - they advised they wanted to go to court. They have money, obviously. They have a home in Myrtle Beach that is being bought by someone. They own a condo in Phoenix. And they have a business called AZ DUI. Money should not be a problem. They are just awful people. They are ‘Christians’ which is why o trusted them. I have the document that was sent to them. Am I able to get help. I’m 65 and don’t have anything but SS. I work now and have saved a little for this particular reason. I live in NE now but can get all documentation to you.
