I'm a subcontractor working on a large commercial project. We delivered materials to our customer on or around 9/20/20. Our customer was kicked off the job by their customer and has refused to pay us until they resolve their lawsuit they are involved with their customer. We did not become aware of this until late November. We sent them a notice of intent to lien that was delivered on 12/21/20. Are we still able to file a lien?
MississippiI Am an independent contractor ,I did a remodel for a local doctor I had several cabinets custom built , a library ladder and several other items done. reworked the whole master closet and refinished the trim on the two areas. for a total of about 8500 dollars. This was about 18 moths ago. There were 2 things he was unhappy with at the time, I told him I would fix, a drawer and a cabinet door were warped. time went by and for personal reasons (my son was born) I put it in the back burner. He never called or followed up. when I sent Him a bill 6 months ago he refused to pay anything
TexasI am a homeowner in Pa. I hired a contractor without a contract that abandoned the job and left me with unpainted walls flooring ceilings my staircase not completed and removed locks off my front door (took them with him to match) and said I’ll let you know when I’ll be back. It’s been 4 months. After 4 months he is requesting the $3000 balance owed to him (I already paid him $3400. I told him he left me unfinished abandoned the job I never heard from you leaving me to find an alternative way to finish the work and would not be paying him the balance. He’s said he’ll see me in court. I don’t believe he is licensed and there was not contract. What can he do? I don’t not looking for the money I paid back he did do some work but I don’t want to pay the balance. I feel as a widowed senior he took advantage of me and left me a huge problem of unfinished work

CaliforniaI had a fire at my residence. The initial insurance estimate was 14000 dollars and I used their preferred contractor. He came in April,did the demolition and claimed I should have further remediation work done. He took months and did not complete the work even though he was paid 25000. In September I figured him but the insurance company paid me an additional 34000. I had to get other contractors to finish the deck,siding,flooring and electrical. Now he is claiming another 20000 dollars and filed a mechanics lien on my property. The only contact in signed was for the initial 14000. It cost almost 15000 too finish what he didn't. How do if get the lien removed?
PennsylvaniaContractor ruined my floors, walls, flooded the house, cut holes in the wrong spots in the tub insert. He was in my home May-July (he stated this job would take 3 days) we had no contract signed and was told to complete the job or he would be let go with no pay at all. Once he left you still could not use the shower. Now I see we have a mechanical lien on my house.

OhioBetween 10/19-24/2020 we performed work at 3900 Brentwood st lake charles la and at the end of week to be paid the client refused to pay me & my workers, so since I owner the company I had to pay the workers out of pocket, the home owner then gave me a check of $13,200.00 for reimbursement, on 10/26/2020 she canceled the check after I had already paid my worker on 10/24/2020, I have all my reciepts for money owed to me can someone please help,
LouisianaWe initially received a request to accept a job via email, we spoke to the contractor and gave our prices per sqft and he accepted, we received estimated measurements and proceeded with estimate, but told him this was based of his measurements. We went out and took measurements and there was a 1000+ difference. The only contact we had was with the customer since the contractor wouldn’t answer our messages or calls and customer wanted a change on the project and we complied with her demands. The job was complete and the customer loved her kitchen. Contractor did not answer when we needed to get paid, I had to hunt him down and finally we met at his storage unit and he paid with a check ($4004.17) and 2 days later sent me an email saying we stole from him and that we were gonna see what he was gonna do next. He stopped the check my account is negative -$4000 and he is going back and forth with us that he will pay us what he wants not what the final invoice said. He’s threatening us if we don’t give our SSN so he can file a 10-99 that we will get audited by IRS. Please help
CaliforniaI lived and worked onsite for a motel as a subcontractor. When I left, the owner and his son whom is the manager refused to pay me the 4 weeks he owed me . Also the owner was not only sexually harrassing me but also verbally by calling me vulgar names and explaining about his many penile implants he had had even after I told him that was not appropriate.; I just want my back pay plus compensation for his harrassment and I HAVE SEVERAL WITNESSES TO PROVE THIS AS SAME HAPPENED TO THEM.
He owed me approx 800 + , however I feel i should sue for a minimum 10,000 in small claims court for all the abuse. They said they had to repaint the room I was living in and it cost all the money he was supposed to pay me??!! I happen to know that he has the other employees paint everything there as part of there work.; HOW MUCH TIME DO I HAVE TO FILE A CIVIL LAWSUIT AND DO I NEED AN ATTY OR IS THIS MINOR ENOUGH TO DO MYSELF. TexasWe are a roofing company, if we did not acquire a tile warranty within the 90 days required, is the tile company still obligated to take resonsiblilty for there tile that was used on a home?
FloridaI hired a contractor to build a barn. I paid him for all the work. 5 months after project finished the brick sub contractor left a note in my mailbox saying he wasn't paid in full. He filed a small claims suit for 7k against me. I went to the hearing and showed my cancelled check which included the brickwork. The judge told him to subpoena the contractor to show up in court. The hearing is in 2 months. Does the subcontractor have a case against me or should he sue the contractor. I'm in Texas and the contractor won't return my calls or the subcontractor. Any advice is appreciated.
TexasFrom the get go this job was not done right. The old admin sent two separate estimates. One for the Fence and Concreate work and another for a Shed. The customer agreed to both projects totaling $12300.42 . He gave a depost of $7100.42. We paid our subcontractor for the concrete work $2600. Because of delays in weather holding up the concrete we where pushed back. Then the delay in materials due to Covid we where then put back again. We started putting up the fence. Only to come back and see that the customer had taken down the parts we put up. I don't know how but the sub contractor talked the customer into paying him and for the concrete a second time. checks we have copies of written out to the subcontractor. The customer also took it upon himself to purchase materials and asked us to refund him for it, we never agreed to any of that. After all the headache because of the subcontractor and the customer doing whatever he wanted to our job site, the customer wanted all his money back. Including what he had paid the subcontractor on his own without our knowledge. Work came to a stand still. We where told not to come back on the property. 100% of the concrete is completed "not to our standards" and 75% of the fence was completed after rehanging fence panels the customer took down multiple times. The mistakes on our part was from the our old Admin not file the proper paper work on time. I believe because work on the shed was never started we can not enforce that payment. However with all moneys collected a balance of $900.42 is remining on the fence. I was told by leverset to contact a lawyer to see what we can do to resolve this payment.
