Is a closet/cabinet business considered essential in California (LA County)??
CaliforniaDon't have a payroll...just subcontractors. Can I pay myself--as usual? Can I pay sub-contractors or companies that I don't give a 1099 to. Do these qualify for my normal payroll as subcontractors so I can writeoff the repayment as much as possible.

MississippiI work at an interior design firm, and my boss is saying that we are considered 'construction' so she feels we are essential. New YorkI'm the Secretary Treasurer of a Walls and All, Inc. We are a Sub on a project that is on hold due to the Covid-19. We billed our Pay App#2 on March 18, 2020 in the amount of $66,230.56. This consisted of Material that was special ordered and we were not able to cancel order. Now we have a $35,076.97 invoice that is due May 30th. My question is when is our lien rights out on this pay app#2. (our last day on job was 3/13)(mat. delivered to our warehouse 3/10)

WisconsinMy Alameda county company does window covering sales and is opening, stating as they have a contractors license it is construction. Is this essential? Would office employees have to go into the office or do they legally be allowed to work remotely?
I live in San Joaquin county and believe the SIP states you can only travel to essential work.
CaliforniaWe actually have a high rise condo in Chicago combining two units that we have our contract like 45% completed and due to the states shut down the buildings management and association will not allow us back. We have 3-4 days work to collect large payout and due to not working the last 4/5 weeks have had all of both units materials come in and have had to pay for them. Now we may have storage fees/charges next week and the units cabinets hit town next week too.
What can we do?

New YorkWe are a small limited liability company with only two members (partners). We do not have any employees. We pay ourselves, of course, but we pay ourselves with "guaranteed payments," as opposed to standard W2 wages. We are looking at the PPP Act (CARES Act). Do our guaranteed payments qualify as "paychecks" under the new law? Also, we pay distributions to ourselves from time-to-time. Would these qualify?
