I filed my notice of intent the day before my deadline, but on my account it says it’s a day past the deadline. As is the same for the mechanics lien I filed on Monday. Also the deadline. Is this lien going to work or and I S.O.L ?

WyomingCan a General Contractor reduce the Subcontractor's scope of work for delays in performance by changing scope of work so that Subcontractor only back fills small amount of project and gives all the remaining high billing construction to the Subcontractor's own previously employed sub- Subcontractor who Quit? So Subcontractor is not fired but their earning ability is essentially gone yet they have to allow their own sub to take their place and their future earnings.
WyomingWe are the Subcontractor in a contract with General Contractor for the framing of a hotel.
We filed a timely invoice at end of April for payment on 35 % of total job completion. We were told that Owner approved the payment. We have been waiting for the Contractor to get paid so we could get paid. (Pay when Paid) Should have been around 30 days per contract. In May we lost a lot of manpower and thus productivity. General contractor lied to us and said they still had not been paid by Owner and that we needed to improve our manpower. We actively pursued remedy and procured additional crew to start this coming week. GC says they want to see us improve in quality and manpower. GC now thinks we should not receive the 35% payment for work already performed even though it had been approved. Moreover, I just found out in late afternoon that GC has been dishonest as they actually did get paid by Owner earlier this week. GC was even trying to get Subcontractor to change their submitted invoice on the percentage of work completed while they secretly withheld that they received payment from Owner. When I directly asked president of GC this afternoon if they had received payment from Owner, he completely denied it and stated that they need to see improvement from Subcontractor prior to payment. What would be my best next step to secure payment from a GC who is intentionally delaying payment on work that has already been completed ? Not to mention subcontractor needs the funds to secure lodging for the increased manpower that GC required the Subcontractor to remedy.

Do we still hve the ability to file the intent and lien?
WyomingWe live in Montana Our general contractor is in breach of contract for a multitude of reasons. Did not ensure installation according to Mfg specs. Did not install materials agreed upon being 2 of many examples. We emailed a notice of breach and cease and desist. We have started hiring contractors to fix things done (and destroyed) wrong and finish the project. He has filed a notice to file a mechanics lien. How should I respond? He is also filing under a company name that we did not contract with. He also has monies included in the lien notice that are not labor or materials. This was a cost plus contract and he has not been able to clearly document his costs.

WyomingMy general contractor is over 30 days to pay me. My contract says if he's over 21 days he owes me 20% on top of the total. He's taking his time to pay me and I'm going to put a mechanics lien on his house.
WyomingI am NOT licensed bonded or insured.... I did some work for my uncle on his property in Wyoming, (I live in Idaho) = wrote down my hours - he wrote me a check - then cancelled the check and it bounced. I'm wondering which I should do first = Hire an attorney to sue him for fraud or file a lien on his property. I have already had the preliminary notice and the intent to file a lien documents sent.... the 20 day waiting period has passed. Please advise. P.S. I intend for him to pay all costs of pursuing this.

WyomingI am a subcontractor on a project and am subbing out another company. If the contractor is hold retainage from me, am i able to hold it from them?
WyomingAnd autobody shop has my truck they haven’t performed any work on it did an estimate ordered parts I told him that I can’t afford the parts at this time but I’d give him half the payment but I need my truck and he refuses to give me my truck said he would put a lien on it even though he hasn’t done any work where am I at legally with getting my truck back
WyomingWe initially ordered cabinetry for a contractor in August then added items later in September. The contractor gave us a substantial down payment but has been dragging his feet when we sent an invoice for the balance and had all kinds of reasons why he hadn't sent the balance. He was unhappy about how a couple of things had come in and miscommunication of his expectation of a couple of items so on a balance due of $4004.34 we comp'd him in the amount of $2420.80. He then ordered additional items such as handles along with a few more items. We sent him an invoice of $2527.04 of which he informed me he was only sending a check in the amount of $1448.04. These are legitimate items and I'm wondering if you think this is a legitimate reason to lien his home that is now listed for sale? Nothing unethical or underhanded was done on our part and I feel that he should pay the amount due.
