I did a subcontractor job in seattle area
Blue pine construction, called me and said they won pay anybody of all 25 workers on jobsite, but they told us when we were finished with the job,
Washingtonworking on public works (mostly publiv^ school) this is what my to do list. I was sent. That they say is not prevailing wage work.

I worked on a remodeling of two houses, the contractor requested my work through a person who works with him, at the end of the contractor he paid me that was agreed at that time, later he asked me to paint the exterior of the house and the trim, Soffit installation, a demolition and other things.
Now the contractor says that he did not hire me directly.
I have photos where I paint the property and text messages requesting that I start working on another property to start other jobs.
I have a painter's license.
The owner of the house is aware that I have not been paid.
My question is, can I act legally on the properties where I work, two weeks have passed and I have received no intention from either party.

WashingtonHandyman and I have a simple contract for the work he’s supposed to perform, 60% work in done and paid 60%. Out of contract work this handyman is tacking 70 extra hours he put in 40hrs out of 70 in shopping hauling material for a job which is I’m disputing. Job bid was $2100 in labor to repair a wood deck and prep for paint, repair is done 80% paint is pending 100% I have been shopping for the most part, in three trips how can you spend 40 hours when stores don’t even open that long hours

WashingtonWe hired a construction contractor to turn a workshop into a 'livable space.' He did a horrible job, not to code even though we told him we needed to see permits, used the cheapest material. We paid him $38000 to date, on his $37000 estimate. He wants $12000 more for what he says are 'upgrades' when he didn't do what he was hired to do right. We got quotes to fix his work totally a minimum of $20000, and bring it up to code, which he was supposed to do in the remodel, but did not. He is now threatening a lien on our home, and may have already put one on. I'd like to avoid this happening, or get it off asap if he has without paying him even more than his original estimate to do a job he did not do. Please advise! Jeri Cafesin

WashingtonI DID NOT SEND A PRELIMINARY NOTICE AND NOW IM HAVING DIFFCULTY WITH CUSTOMER FOR PAYMENT. CAN I FILE A LIEN? THEY SENT ME A LETTER DECLARING I BREEACH CONTRACT AND DONT WANT US BACK ON PROPERTY IM CONCERNED FOR MY BOND. CAN I FILE THE LIEN ANSD CAN MY BOND BE PROTECTED AGAINST THEM FILING AGAINST IT?

I am a Supplier working for an apartment complex. The contract amount $250,000 and the retainage 10%. We will delivery our product only (no installation/labor/work).
Is it legal to withheld 10% retainage on materials?
