We hired a General Contractor/Builder to design a home. They've failed to meet any timelines they set and are unwilling to provide evidence of the the services delivered (such as the survey or engineering). We cancelled our engagement in writing . There was a deposit for survey, engineering, design review fees, and home design. The only work for which we have an indication of completion is the design review..
How long do we have to wait after terminating the engagement to demand a refund for services that were not delivered?
OregonWe are trying to file a Lien in Oregon. We were contracted by someone who told us she was the owner. We have notified her of rights to lien and told her we will be filing one. But 12 hours ago she informed us she is not the owner after 60 days of her representing herself as the owner. We found out upon research it is owned by her family trust. How do we proceed.
OregonA Client has an outstanding invoice. They paid in full several invoices prior to the outstanding one, and have paid in full an invoice after the outstanding one. The holdup with the outstanding invoice is that some work was an emergency Change Order which we were told we would be paid for. Client is now saying the CO work was for Phase 3&4 work which the bank has not funded, but we accomplished under the Phase 1&2 contract. Client reluctantly paid a % of the outstanding invoice so we would keep working. Question: Client wants a conditional waiver for the percent of the outstanding invoice they paid. If I give them a conditional waiver for that % does that clear them of any responsibility for the remaining invoice amount??????

OregonI am a contractor operating as an S Corp. I filed a lien against client who didn’t pay despite the work done well and completed. Deadline passed at this point. Just realized I put my own name as Claimant, not my company name. Was this a mistake? Could it invalidate my claim? The client job contract signed had my signature on it (same signature as on the lien paper).

I'm a subcontractor and have a difficult client I'm dealing with. My question is if my payment is still protected since our las work day was on 7/30/21. However the project did not pass inspection until last Friday and we returned to complete correction the following day. I'm wondering what day counts as the last day of work. Considering our portion of the project was not completely finished until last Saturday.
OregonMy Contractor is charging me for overhead a d profit for work I paid my contractors to do. There is fine print in the contract saying they will keep the profit and overhead for work we do not have them do that is in the insurance scope bid. Am I out of luck that’s like 8k-12k for nothing. OregonI am a subcontractor for a public works job. I installed underground conduits for a public utility department (power). How will this work if payment isn't made to subcontractors? do they file a lien just like anything else or is there bonds that need to be looked for?
OregonI installed new windows and some dry rot repair. Her deposit checked bounced, it took 5 weeks to recover that amount. I had finished the project she stilled owed 24k. I had to pay for the new windows. I hired Levelset to help with the lien. I hired a lawyer to help. She paid $19K, leaving a balance of $4727. This balance does not include your or the attorneys fees or interest on the balance.
