I needed a garage built. I paid the contractor 20k to build it. This was over 2 months ago. He does not answer my calls or texts. When I did get on hold of him he always has an excuse for every time when we to meet or when I ask for my money back. He took my concrete pad out and that is it.
OhioWe are homeowners who hired a general contractor for house renovations. We both (homeowner and contractor) signed the contract so a construction loan could be secured. The contractor has failed in so many ways there are too many to mention. According to the contractor, he is owed $25,000 but not the homeowner but the bank will not relinquish the funds, because, in the bank's opinion, the contractor had not completed the work he is requesting to be paid for. The contractor tried to write a new contract after not being paid for the purpose of asking for $20,000 to complete the job with one exception, he took it upon himself to use this new contract and eliminate a large job that was in the original contract. If we signed the new contract he would send a few workers to finish what in his opinion would complete the work and give us 48 hours to sign the new contract. We respectfully denied the new contract, and this was done without the knowledge of the bank that holds the construction loan. Within the contract, we had specifically asked for a particular manufactures siding, and the contractor had the audacity to bring and install a different manufactures siding. The siding the homeowner requested was even in the contract that both parties signed. The contractor even lied about being a certified installer of the product he installed, and the reason I say that is because the manufacturer of the siding that was installed will not warranty their product due to all the installation problems. We found out later the manufacturer had no certified installers in Ohio. Eventually, when pressured the contractor admitted he was not a certified installer. So what are a homeowner's rights in a situation like ours?

OhioMy company was hired to do a job at a public university in Oxford Ohio to supply landscape materials "Turf Grass Sod" the Job started August 10th, 2022 and our last delivery was dated October 10th, 2022. Payment terms for this job were Net 30 so the billing shows them as only 23 days Past Due

On private jobs, with a lump sum payment. Payment due at completion, can the owner hold the payment if they "feel" there are punch list items? There is no contract, just a signed proposal accepting the scope of work, the amount and the payment terms.

OhioI own and operate a seamless gutter business. A contractor and I had a verbal agreement regarding completion of a gutter install. We completed the install, invoiced the contractor and he has been ignoring all calls/texts for 3 weeks. We still aren’t paid and have plenty of documentation regarding an agreement. OhioYes I did sum drywall finishing and texture with a close friend of mine and the work was for his buddy which is going to be a rental property there is already two rentals that are occupied in this building . The owner was paying us by the hr $20 well everything was good until final payment I had 10 hrs plus half of $300 owed to me which would have made my last payment to be $350 which I never received I've tried contacting both party's to no avail , so what can I do about this situation?
OhioMy GC was paid for the work I completed on a project but skipped out on me I was told the whole time I waited to get paid that,the heck has not been paid out yet all the way until Nov2,2022.
