I filed a lien and the owner passed away before I could go to court. I was then told to keep my lien up to date every 2 years so it doesn't expire so I did since 2018 to present. I could not find out who the new owner was till recently where I then filed a claim against property also. Now new owner wants to file a claim against me for slander of tile. I'm being told now that my lien my not be valid and I'll loose all money owed to me by original owner. Any advice please??
New MexicoI was a superintendent for the sub contractor for a 64 unit apartment building. During my time on the job I wasn't paid my travel pay by the sub that hired me and also wasn't reimbursed for materials I purchased for the job. The total is just over $4k. What options do I have the company that hired me won't answer my calls.
New MexicoI have a Notice of Claim on Bond due on 8/22/22 and still haven't received the surety information yet. The Notice has been sent to the subcontractor, the prime contractors, and the owners.
New MexicoI performed handyman services via my LLC on a single family residence.
I was the only one working under my LLC.
Owner hired other people to do other work while I was there, and they ran the others off.
The work was directed verbally by the owner, with no formal plans or specifications.
There was no formal contract as I was working strictly by the hour.
All payments for 5 moths =/- until the last payment, when the owner told me she was not going to pay because of re-work needed and prior over-billing. The owner has stopped responding to all my attempts to communicate.
Can and should I file a Lien on the property?
If not, what recourse should I seek?

New MexicoThe State of New Mexico outlaws holding retention on subcontractors. What about landscape contractors? We have a large subcontract for landscaping around a large development and want assurance that the plantings survive. The wording on their warranty is not acceptable to us!
New MexicoI filed machanic lien for $11,400. I have yet to be paid a single payment. I was told by the broker not to return to property after meeting with him in regards to the cost for labor. It's been 10 months since.

New MexicoA plumber filed a lien on a bill. The bill was 944.84 to clean to 2 water heaters part of this was for a valve that the plumber broke. I was told to decrease the bill to 150. The amount was still extremely high given that a high price is 300. I sent the payment via bill pay for 2 becaus I thought it is not worth fighting. I received a mechanics lien for the full price of 944.84 + and additional 213.52 for his travels. What are my options to fight this lien.

we started a project with our customer Insight Lighting, we started delivering parts for the paint booth since 9/21/2020 but due to Covid we were not able to coordinate the installation and find a crew to install this job until the end of July 2021, most of the job got installed by 2/15/22
Please advise if we can file a Mechanical Lien or a UCC lien on the equipment ?

New MexicoIM Mold Remediation Contractor in Colorado that started a cleaning project in Santa Fe New Mexico. The client was to difficult to work with so we both agreed to walk away. She paid her deposit with American Express and has now disputed the payment and got her money back. Can I file a mechanical lien on her property for payment of work we did complete? My lawyer here says I need to get a lawyer in New Mexico.

New MexicoI had a builder order a large set of kitchen cabinets for 10 or so individual homes. When the cabinets arrived, I installed 6 of the homes. The last 4 were already done by another supplier. When I asked the builder they said to get them done by Christmas deadline they had to get another supplier. I asked for payment on the 4 they asked me to order and they said they would use them on another home. Its been a while and not looking likely. I has the cabinets, and asked to deliver them to the builder and they have refused delivery. Do I have a right to claim a lien?
