I have a gc telling me they cant pay until they realize the cost of corrections. Complete bs they also are saying that we got paint everywhere but they came and got a case of paint and I know they made the mess themselves but want me to pay for the bead blasting. They are ignoring calls and short with text messages.

KansasI was working for a Contractor on a job site as an hourly subcontractor when the contractor told me he was going to severely under estimate the amount of hours from 80 that I had put in to 50, I walked off the job site immediately, I have proof that the kind of hours had absolutely nothing to do with my performance on the job site, he was simply trying to stiff me, do I have a right to compensation for the hours that I worked, can I obtain this through a lien, and is it a good idea to contact the homeowner personally before submitting a formal notice of intent?
KansasWe have a general contractor that has not paid us since Feb. and the job is now completed and they plan to take occupancy next week. They say they have not been paid from the owner yet. What can we do?
KansasI hired a contractor who grossly misrepresented himself, used false photos of his work, lied about his experience and time in business. He ruined my driveway causing additional damage. I refuse to pay, it will cost me nearly twice the cost to have it fixed, he filed a lien. What is my recourse? I have already filed an official consumer fraud complaint with the DA and will follow up at the state level but they can not assist me with the removal of the lien.

KansasWe finished a project on a home in September. We have been working with the general contractor to resolve disputes about payment from the homeowner. Homeowner paid (just a month ago), but only paid half of the invoiced amount and is refusing to pay the balance... is there anything we can do now that our 3 month window has passed?
KansasWe supplied some materials to a projects in Kansas. Fortunately this was a small project for us and our total invoice amount is $13,560.00. We have a singed purchase agreement for this work between us and the General Contractor. We invoiced for this work in December 2020. We followed up on payment status this month (March 2021) and received a response from the owner of General Contracting company, saying they are ceasing all work and to contact the owner about payment.
So I contacted the owner and the owner has already paid the General Contractor for the project. I guess the owner of the G.C. business is shutting down the company and depleting all the assets but not filing bankruptcy. I'm not sure what my next move should be? I assume if I filed a law suite against the G.C. I will be out more than the $13,560.00 in legal fees. Or do I file a lien against the owner? I appreciate any advise you can offer on this.

KansasA paint contractor preformed work on our home(new construction build) last September. His work was subpar and not correct after attempting to correct two additional times. He also damaged some other items in the home. I have paid him a partial payment that he has accepted9we do not have a written contract as he was used through my general). Now wants to fill a lien for remaining balance. I have all my estimates for corrections, texts, emails, and photos. I'm in KS, am I correct that the time limit is 4 months in this state? We received occupancy and moved in at beginning of October. His invoice has a date of 9-26-20
KansasI have a contractor threatening to file a lien after we decided to part ways with them. We went a separate way because we were already 3 months into a project and no services had been performed and no materials had been ordered. We gave them a down payment which they kept and are trying to file a lien for additional money which they consider to be our responsibility for ending the contract.

KansasI purchased a prefab cabin to live in. It had to be finished out with walls built, electricity and plumbing. A former friend of mine is a contractor and he offered to do all of this for nothing. He and my husband are best friends which is why he made this generous offer. My husband and I are now going through a divorce and the house is going to have to be sold in the divorce. His friend is upset about the divorce and the house being sold and has now put a mechanical lien on it. Is this enforceable?
