I am a Sub Contractor working hourly for a contractor remodeling mobile homes for several parks as well as doing other repair work and I can not get my boss to pay myself or my help for work that he has already been paid for.
IndianaI install floors and have my own business. A homeowner and I had an agreement with some carpet she wanted installed throughout the house she was moving into. At the end of the first day of installation she noticed scuffs on the wall from the carpet that we had rolled out. I explained to her in the beginning that this could happen and I was willing to do touch up paint. She refused to allow me to finish the job and hasn't paid anything towards the completed work. I've tried renegotiating with her and she is being unreasonable.

IndianaI hired a contractor to repair a plumbing issue at my home. He charged me $6250 and did not fix the problem, and I had to call another company to correct his work. Now I want my money back from the original contractor. After a phone conversation, I am not feeling very confident he will refund my money. Can I file a mechanic's lien against his business?

IndianaI work as subcontractor on a commercial job in the state of Indiana but the GC is in Illinois. They are requiring us to submit unconditional Chicago Title waivers in triplicate originals before releasing payment. Not only that but they are also requiring our supplier to provide original triplicates but will accept them using our standard company waiver template which is not state specific. Is there a legal statute that says a subcontractor and/or their suppliers must provide original documents to the GC in order to receive the payment that is due?
IndianaAn Indiana question: I am looking at this for two types of companies (providing residential not commercial work): an HVAC/Plumbing/Electrical provider and a General Contractor who primarily does kitchen, bathroom and basement remodels. A) On this site it states that a mechanics lien can be used for work that is a “permanent improvement.” I can see a house foundation as being permanent. However, does the above work qualify for a mechanics lien in Indiana due to the fact that after a period of time it would possibly be replaced? B) Also on this site, it states the mechanics lien is good for 1 year. 1) Is that true? 2) Does that mean it has to be re-filed each year? 3) Is it able to be refiled? C) Is the outlined mechanics lien strategy affected by the Indiana Home Improvement Contract Act; in what way?
IndianaSubcontractor is threatening to file a lien on work they were unpaid for from a GC. GC was paid in full prior to completion of work. GC is now insolvent and has not paid the subcontractor. No contract was signed by the homeowner with the subcontractor. Can the subcontractor file a lien against work that has been paid for just because the GC didn’t pay them?
IndianaCompleted the hanging process of drywall and then I was told to stop there, someone cheaper could finish it. I sent the invoice for the work completed and haven’t received payment or any responses.

IndianaI am a home owner in Indiana. I have signed a contingency contract with roofing company. Roofing company never return signed contract back to me and they helped to process the claim with an insurance company. Insurance company not approved 100% estimate provided by roofing company. They have rejected contractors overhead and profit charges due to not complex project. Roofing company asked me to hire a public adjuster and i refused as it was not mentioned in the contingency contract. I told them to cancel the contract based on insurance not approving their O&P charges.
Now roofing company is threatening to file a lien on my property as i am not moving forward them. They are asking $2000 for cancellation fee and few emails they sent to insurance company. They have not performed any work , not provided labor or material . Only they sent few emails to insurance company to get my overall claim approved.
Please let me know if roofing can company sue me and what are my options. Thanks and appreciate your help.
