I am general contractor(project manager) for many propertys have been taken for granted for the past 8 month with none payment for 6 months! our verbal agreement was that I would receive 10 percent of each closed home which 10 homes have been closed and still no payment of percentage promised they have pushed me out of the game stating I have not done the job right! they took two recent homes from me that were getting ready to finish I am stuck I have no funds I am the company owner please I am in desperate need of someones advice and help the guys is suppose to be my partner he would do paper work and I would do all the construction
ColoradoWe went through a company called Porch (it's like Angi's list) for them to send out a person to do some gardening on my home. HE only showed up for one day and never completed the project. The company called Porch closed out our work order telling us we didn't owe them anything because the job was never finished. They in turn from what I understand didn't pay him because the job was never complete. In addition, he was fired from that company for making threats against them as well as against us. He then called us threatening to put a lien on our home if we didn't pay him $1000.00 dollars. Can he actually file a lien against me?? Moreover can he file a lien against me if I own my home and vehicles outright. I have no mortgage.

ColoradoCan a landscape company file a mechanics' lien against a homeowner's association for unpaid invoices on trash and snow removal? The landscape company has not done the work they claim, but won't negotiate a reduction in their invoices.
ColoradoWe did a lot of work for a home building company that we haven’t been paid for. Much of it isn’t specific to a particular lot, but rather the entire community (like street cleaning, moving lots of dirt from one area to another, etc,). Can we file a lien on the development itself instead of every lot in the community?
ColoradoWorked for this roofing company in Aurora last year in July 2020. Going over receipts for a job I’d sold I found a $1,000 receipt for materials not used on this job . I confronted the owner about it and said that it was fraud. I went to work an was called to the office later an fired for being negative. He ( Storm Solutions Roofing refused to pay me over $9,000 he owed me . I’ve had him in court since last August an his attorney keeps delaying the proceedings . Can I still file a mechanics lein even though the 6 months limit has passed
ColoradoI hired a person to do work on my rental house, since I put it up for sale. We don’t have a written contract, but on multiple times he told me the job would be completed weeks ago, since I have a contract on it. Lastnight he called me, yelling that he wants his money, even though he’s not finished with the work, and has since remembered the scope of the agreed upon work much differently than what was Initially agreed to. He kept telling me it was going to cost me more money because he didn’t realize it was going to take him that long to do, etc. I have completed part of the work myself, since he keeps not showing up, and when he does show up, it’s for maybe an hour or so here and there. He called me making threats that he will file a mechanics lien on my home and get more money from me that way, if I dont give him more money. And said it would cause me to lose my sale on the house. Can he file a mechanics lien on my house, when he didn’t complete the work, and I actually overpaid him, based on what work has been done, and what is left to do, which I will have to hire someone else now to finish.
ColoradoI filed and intent to lien and a mechanic's lien recorded with the clerk and recorder within 10 days of the intent and my deadline was February 28th 2021 I filed that mechanics lien August 28th 2020 they sold the house on February 9th just before I was going to file my final paperwork for foreclosure so what I'm asking is is it illegal for them to sell the house before the six months and my mechanics lien expiration?
ColoradoIf the Mechanics Lien was not paid when the house was sold. Do we put the previous owners as the Hiring Party? Or do we put them on the Intent it Enforce/Foreclose? And as what party?
ColoradoFix and flip investors hired me to complete some of the work on their investment, they ran out of money so i placed a lien on the property. About a month later (last Friday) they sold the property "free and clear", called me to tell me not to post a copy of the lien on the door or I will be charged with trespassing.
ColoradoI've sent a notice of intent to lien via Levelset and it got the customers attention. They didn't have enough to pay the full balance, so I took a credit card for $2k of the $10915 they owe me. I have 2 questions, if I file a lien on the property can I just do it for the remaining balance? ColoradoWe had a GC say that a bathroom insurance claim would be done in 3 weeks. It took 3 months and 2 weeks. We still owe them about $2250 we notified them that we can make monthly payments for between $300 to $500 till bill is paid. Can they still file a lien in Colorado?
ColoradoI am on the other end of this. I have not paid a tree service since the work was wrong. Wrong size trees, wrong kind, planted incorrectly. He now is threatening putting a lien on my property. Is that his only recourse he has or can he take me to small claims court? Is there anything I can do pro-actively to voice my side of the argument to prevent the lien?
ColoradoGood afternoon - I have already filed a Mechanic's Lien for the client refusing to pay the bill in full. When should I initiate the lawsuit? Should I give them notice? Is this worth doing for just under $1,000 that they won't pay? Thank you for your help, Elizabeth
