A contractor is threatening to file a lien against my property after I offered to deduct the payment I made to another contractor to finish the work he never finished. We never had a written or signed agreement to start.
ColoradoA construction company hired our services for hauling of construction material on a property they are building but haven't paid us for invoices from Jun and Jul of this year, totaling just over $53k. We recorded a lien but did not add interest rate to the amount due and are now wanting to correct this, but we do not know what is a valid interest rate we can charge.
ColoradoWhat is the next step? We have till Nov 10th.

The company I work for pays me every two weeks,they pay a percentage of each job at their discretion so my direct deposits are never same amount as contracts say?

I have a subcontractor on a project in Colorado that has been paid his contracted amount. He has signed all interm and a final lien waiver. I received a call from his supplier stating the Subcontractor owes them approx $10,000 and they are moving to liening the project. The invoices date back to April, May..i have given them (supplier) documents showing his payment and final lien waiver etc. But they still want me to pay his bill. What are my rights on this?

ColoradoOur GC placed a mechanic's lien on our property in Colorado 1 year ago and has not taken any further action. We have not paid the lien amount for a number of reasons (construction defects, invalid C/O, etc). From what I understand, the lien has now expired and is presumably unenforceable but still remains of record. What is the process for removal? Does the GC need to remove the lien? If so, what if he refuses to release it?
ColoradoI have not been paid for over a month. I have sent intent to lien. GC mentioned to me that if i file a mechanics lien it will take longer for me to be paid because job is thru bank loan and bank will have to investigate before i get paid. True?
ColoradoCouldn't file a law suit due to financial problems caused by the pandemic and now mechanics lien is expired. Amount due is still not paid and would like to know if i still have any options.

ColoradoI completed installing the trim to the house, and was given a check for that part of the project with a stamp on the back of the check with a lien waiver which I did not sign or cash the check. I installed a sewer line from the house to the city sewer line, and was told he would not pay for the work done. Everything was done to code and functions accordingly.
