I am an owner of House remodel project. Today I got Notic of Intent to Lien from My GC. He requested me to do some payment but did not provide me invoice, and I requested him to provide me the project on-going list to against the payment. And He did not execute the remodeling job according to the drawing approved by City building, and missed 3 new windows, until 4/12/2022 San Jose City inspector pointed them out. I asked him to fix this mistake before payment, he refused me. And he did not answer my calls, answer my emails, and answer my messages.
CaliforniaWe are an electrical subcontractor working on a public works project and for no reason the GC is trying to cancel our signed contract. The GC asked our electricians to leave the jobsite, mid day the other day and will not let us return. The GC will not give us a reason and will not return my calls. We need to, at least, be paid for the work we have done and billed for. Possibly the entire amount of the signed contract. What are our legal rights?

There is an ongoing dispute and contractor refuses to go to mediation as required in the contract. Contract is not yet paid in full. Can the owner terminate the contract and hire another contractor to do the job?

CaliforniaI am a GC who helped complete a two house project in CA for an owner/builder customer. I have a signed contract for my services. I was not paid in full and am owed approximately $23,000.00 for project management. I was promised I'd be paid once the property was sold; It sold on approximately April 4th and I just recently found out. The customer has refused to pay me the balance. Can I still file a lien now that it's sold? The last materials reimbursement invoice was paid on 4/7/22 and the customer paid one of 5 outstanding invoices for project management on the same date (the management fee was a flat fee for the project and progress payments were billed monthly.)

CaliforniaWe started this job almost a year ago. However, it was placed on hold for almost 6 months and resumed almost 4 months ago. We finished our scope about a month and a half ago.
Can we still have rights to the lien since the project was on hold for a long time in between?
CaliforniaConstruction project valued at 150K. Not in writing. Subcontractor did 50K worth of extra work which did not benefit the project property, without consent and without any change orders.

CaliforniaI'm run a solar sales organization. I have a client who paid cash for Solar, Roof and a new HVAC unit with ducting work. The HVAC construction company I subcontracted fir the job was a total mess. He came out to give an estimate and while we were still negotiating the projects cost. He started the job without a signed agreement between us and without any form of pdown payment exchanged for him to begin the job. He installed the unit that he knew a part in the furnace was on a recall. So it didn't work. He left a whole in the drywall near ducting system. He left gaslines unvalved and then was unreachable when we were trying to get him to schedule to come back to fix all the issues he had left on the project unfinished. We had to hiring another subcontractor to correct the issues inorder to pass the HERS test. Which added to the overall project expenses. When we sent him an invoice of the additional charges to fix his mistakes and for having abandoned the project. We deducted the additional expenses from the verbal agreement he made with us at $12,500.00, we did not hear back from him. In fact we have still not heard back from him since. However, he filled a Mechanical Lien against the homeowners and their property for $14,000.00. The lien he filed is fraudulent we never signed a subcontracting contract with him or his company at any time during the process of the project and installation. The property is in Napa County but their court house says the lien wasn't filed in their courts jurisdiction.
I need help getting to a resolution for both the homeowners and my company.
Considering that this contractor has numerous suspensions and violations on his licenses. I have a feeling that the lien my have been improperly filed and granted. Is there a way to determine if he also committed fraud when having the lien put against the homeowners property?

I’m a licensed California general contractor I was fired March 31 2022 Job was supposed to be completed December 31, 2021. There were some substandard work. The owner does not want to pay me. What can I do to get paid thanks
