The job was completed January 18th 2021 has too much time passed for our company to file a lien?
CaliforniaThe City is requiring a high rise developer to re-pave the streets surrounding its project. The developer’s GC wants to hire my company to do the work. Since we are being hired not by the City but by the developer and we can’t lien public property, what can we do to protect ourselves against non-payment?
CaliforniaThe person that hired us signed a promissory note indicating they would pay us the money they owe to us 'upon sale with certificate of occupancy of the property'. This same person is quickly selling other properties they own ( that we did work on )- and is being very unresponsive to emails and such. There is one property they recently sold and told us that they 'didn't make money on the job' so they wont pay us about $32K they owe us on the project.
That being said, we are concerned and we do not trust their 'commitments' so we are filing the lien.
Do you think that we should upload/attach the promissory note to the lien?
CaliforniaMy customer is making payments toward their mechanics lien balance. He wants us to keep the lien in place when pd. It's my understanding that once the mechanics lien is paid, we are required to release the lien. Please advise how I should proceed.

CaliforniaHello, my company is having trouble collecting on a 5 month past due account in the amount of $90,171.66. We have made multiple attempts trying to call the owner and several different other people that pertain to this project, but as of yet no response. We have not sent any prerequisite documents (Conditional Waiver or Prelim) but do need to move further with this account. It has been 5 months past due, we are aware that we have way passed the 20 day Prelim deadline, would my company still be able to file a Preliminary Notice for this project? if not, how would we be able to go about securing our mechanic lien rights?
CaliforniaA mechanic's lien was filed 9/15/2020 in the state of California. I did not know that I needed to have an attorney enforce the lien with 90 days of filing. What can we do at this point to push for payment? Does the mechanics lien hold value still without enforcing it with an attorney?
CaliforniaPublic Agency in CA is threatening to withhold all remaining Contract funds for work they have not allowed us to correct, including potentially using other sources to make the corrections and charge our company.
CaliforniaI am a home owner. I needed a new roof. I put in an insurance claim. Hired a roofing company. They started the job than added on things. Some things, like going to the dump several times did not happen. They upgraded my roof without getting approval from my insurance company, as they are paying for a new roof. Insurance wants a itemized bill so they can see why the price went up several thousand dollars. They said they would provide one. I have asked for one also several times so they can get payed. Almost 3 months later they still have not provided one. I also had some dry rot. I have to pay for myself. They have not provided me a bill, just a text message stating I have dry rot. Also after stating what color tile I want they put the wrong color on. Not they are demanding payment in 2 days or they will put a lien on my home and start legal action. What can I do. My insurance company and myself want to pay them but without the needed documents we can not.

.....I was arrested..because cslb called to offer a job..a fence section.....I'm a project manager by trade.union member....etc..exp. all trades....been free means having choices I choose not to work for cslb...I choose not to work for a company.. I choose not to get a general contracting.license...why don't you guys..protect those rights...I was insured. Buisness license ein tax number.. was doing small jobs..fences.decks..im contracting with adults..law says if your over18..you can contract. .buisness and profession 7028 was enacted.to serve the public sector..and I agree with it...was to protect sub contractors and make sure people where paid .was a requirement if you wanted to bid and work on government jobs..I don't work for the gov or public works..in private sector..why they come after me..it's hard to find an attorney that will do the right thing .I guess we all do have a price..special interest..got u....but be real to yourself..cslb is not protecting the consumer.we all know that.their protecting.their next meal..itsbtru what they say..the poor worker supports the nation..making it everyday harder to do anything ..by been forced to drive prices higher and higher..to support all those entities. .a calapse is eminent..home prices rents.all due to this very subject..those greedy bastards.forcing.contractors.to charge outrageous prices.for simple stuff..it's wrong for the country..it's wrong for the people.we all have mother's..sisters.wives...lets hope .I told u so ..if any one thinks..it's wrong and wants to help me..do the right thing.i shouldn't fear .everyday..weather I'll come back home..or be arrested..my crime working an honest job. To feed my family..I will continue .no matter what happens...it's either that or sell drugs..rob people.do some serious hussle..I'm not looking for a job..I posses many skills and trades.i can sell myself to pretty much anyone.i do homes .cars.computets.on line anything .just last year attained my LLS...for.it be insane to get a license for everything I do...so I'm hoping been limited.willl allow me .to work.....
