I work for a non-union fencing company in Hawaii, and when we work county jobs we make prevailing wages. But lately we have been subcontracted on federally and state funded projects and we are not making prevailing wages, but the other construction workers said that they are making Davis bacon wages. Is there a loophole the companies are using so that we are exempted from the Davis Bacon act? Something doesn't sit right with this. Thanks for feedback.
